Godwinshelley2: Hi Rush

Rush: Hello, GS!

Rush: How are you this evening?

Godwinshelley2: Not sure I have the energy to watch the whole thing

Godwinshelley2: Up early and did half day at my temp job – then went to Assisted Living to sit with a lady

Rush: Yes?

Godwinshelley2: How was your day16:30

Rush: Is this a new job?

hounder has joined this room

Godwinshelley2: The temp job I’ve been doing one day a week for a couple months

Rush: Overall…restful today.

Rush: Hello, Hounder!

hounder: Hi everyone. i’m back, I think.

Rush: WELCOME!

Godwinshelley2: The challenge is I have to be there at 7am and it’s 45 minutes away

Rush: GREAT to see you again!

Godwinshelley2: Hi Hounder

Rush: Welcome back!

Rush: Long drive, GS!

hounder: great to be here. It’s been a crazy couple of weeks.

Godwinshelley2: Yes – and a dark one – worry about hitting deer

Rush: The man I care for every-other weekend is only about ten minutes away.

Rush: Yes, hounder?

Godwinshelley2: The Assisted Living place is about an hour and half away

Rush: Where are you, now?

Rush: WOW, GS!

Godwinshelley2: Hounder or us

Rush: Hounder.

hounder: cataract surgery for me, moving back to FL.

Rush: okay.

Rush: You too, I guess, GS!

hounder: where i once again actually have internet

Godwinshelley2: Well – it’s temporary – my cousin’s husband had surgery and they put her mother in law in Assisted Living temporarily – I’m dropping in to make sure she is settling ok

Rush: Have you had the surgery yet, Hounder?

Mike in DC has joined this room

Mike in DC: Good evening all!

Godwinshelley2: Hounder we are happy to have you connected to our internet chatrrom

Rush: Well, that’s wonderful of you to be able to help out that way, GS!

Godwinshelley2: Hi Mike

Rush: Hello, Mike!

Rush: Alone tonight, I take it!

hounder: i’m happy to have ANY internet.

hounder: hi mike

Godwinshelley2: The temp job is about halfway – so I do both on the same day

Mike in DC: Yes…Rach is at an assisted-living place visiting her Grandma (stroke)

Godwinshelley2: Your busy season, right Mike?

Godwinshelley2: Wow we are all care givers on here

Mike in DC: Yes..for the next three weeks or so.

Rush: Mike, GS is also helping someone in an assistec care too!

hounder: And Momlives with me.

Rush: GS…you are beyond busy!

Mike in DC: I just saw that as I signed in. (And Hounder…happy landings w surgery)

Godwinshelley2: Yes – my cousin has her Mother in Law with her

Rush: I hope that we can offer you a break tonight!

hounder: thanks mike

hounder: that’s my hope as well

Rush: When is the surgery, Hounder?

Godwinshelley2: Is this why Charlie was always out roaming the world – and we never saw Momma – she was home taking care of folks

Rush: YES, GS!

hounder: It was about 2 weeks ago and went great.

Godwinshelley2: Have we ever written a Mrs Chan story

Rush: OH! I am happy all went well, of course!

Rush: Marie had that done in one eye some years ago, and she was amazed at what she had been missing!

Godwinshelley2: Were you in for something fun, Rush?

Rush: I am always on the lookout for something fun, GS!

Rush: GS, we put one together in 2002.

Godwinshelley2: That’s why we are all there

Godwinshelley2: Oh – is it on your website

Rush: You can find the result at the bottom of our “Directory.”

Godwinshelley2: ok

Rush: “Charlie Chan at College.”

Godwinshelley2: Young Charlie – or solving a crime at college?

Rush: This month’s poll question is asking if we should attempt another.

Godwinshelley2: I am so bad – I never look at those – just have the chatroom link I click

Rush: It could be in the form of a serial, with each participant penning a chapter, which is taken up by the next person, etc.

hounder: me too gs.

Rush: Or, we could do that and then put them al together as a sort of complete “movie.’

Mike in DC: That could be fun, Rush.

Rush: Not young Charlie, but CC solving a crime happening at USC.

Rush: Jimmy’s college.

Godwinshelley2: Ah – with the help of sons AND daughters I hope

Rush: That could be, yes!

Godwinshelley2: Maybe put in that dog from the cartoon

Mike in DC: Pop! The murdered man was in my biology class!

Godwinshelley2: If it WAS a dog??

Rush: We could involve as many of the chan offspring as desired.

Godwinshelley2: College day if other siblings visiting

Mike in DC: That would involve creating personas for some of them. 🙂

Rush: maybe the premise could be a family trip that turns into a murder mystery on the road…sort of like “Circus.”

Rush: But the kids are all older now and a number take part.

Godwinshelley2: What city is USC

Mike in DC: LA

Rush: i guess it would eb like the Amazing Chan Clan!

angel & fox has joined this room

Godwinshelley2: So they would be over from Honolulu?

hounder: hi angel and fox

Rush: Angel…and fox!

angel & fox: Halooooooooo! Halooooooooooooooooooo!

Len Freeman has joined this room

Godwinshelley2: Hi AF

Rush: WELCOME!

Godwinshelley2: ANd Hello Len

Mike in DC: Greetings Len, Angel & Fox!

Rush: And…LEN!

Rush: Missed your arrival…sorry!

Rush: My eyes are glued to my keyboard…sorry!

angel & fox: Greet-things to ALL! My screen does not show those present. Is this new? And, hiya Len, hiya GS, Rush, Mike…

Len Freeman: Hi all – I’ll be typing slow tonight… have a cat on my left hand… so mainly hunt and pack

Len Freeman: cast

Rush: (Yes…I am a “visual” keyboarder!

angel & fox: And HOUNDER!!

hounder: hi len

Godwinshelley2: Maybe we could have them bump into Mantan Moreland working in a lab on campus

Mike in DC: Len: Ouch. Wish it were a cat!

Rush: The plot is wide open, GS!

Len Freeman: Cat would be nicer

angel & fox: I WONDERED where Rachel was. So she’s a Living Assistant? Better than the alternative.

Mike in DC: Maybe in the Department of Seance-ology?

Godwinshelley2: Ha!

Rush: So, tonight we will be watching “The Shanghai Chest” with Roland Winters.

angel & fox: AND listening to the LONG, SLOW Murder of Colonel Whatshisface!

Godwinshelley2: I confuse a lot of these later Chans

Rush: But first…our final epidode of the radio drama…”The Baffling Murder of colonel Willoughby”

Mike in DC: Taking care of Grandma this evening, Angel–and still alive. 🙂

angel & fox: Both, Mike, i hope!

Rush: Especially when there is “Shanghai” in the title, GS!

Rush: There are severl of those!

angel & fox: There probably ARE more Chans than a Chinese phonebook.

Rush: 🙂

Rush: Yes, Angel!

angel & fox: Fox shares my guilt, in event of any indictment.

Rush: So…if everyone could click on the link to our serial above….

angel & fox: Clicking!

Mike in DC: Clicked.

hounder: ready

Rush: Also, sadly, our feature was nowhere to be found on the Internet.

angel & fox: Stupid Internet.

Rush: Hopefully most of us have it on disc or tape.

Len Freeman: OK, ready

Rush: Agreed, Angel!

Mike in DC: Dug up an old copy…

Rush: ready here, too…

Mike in DC: Ready in DC

Rush: Everyone ready?

angel & fox: Do you suppose if we went to Mr. Gore personally, & offered him some carbon, the Shanghai Chest could be made awailable?

Rush: Let’s say…30 seconds…

angel & fox: Reddy!

hounder: i hve the disk, but the dvd player isnt set up so i’ll just do the extra tonight and try to be ready for next week

Rush: 20 seconds…

Rush: 15…

Rush: 10…

angel & fox: Listos!

Rush: 5…

Rush: GO!!!

angel & fox: BONG

Mike in DC: gong, even

Rush: Rolling intro music….

Rush: Announcer….

angel & fox: I’m doing a voice-over for Your Terraplane Dealer while the music washes.

Mike in DC: Delightfully fascinating character?

Rush: “Delightfully fascinating character….”

Rush: 🙂

hounder: still trying to unpack and settle in

angel & fox: An ascetic criminal scholar.

Rush: Yes, Hounder.

angel & fox: Hounder—take your shoes off, set a spell!

Rush: Understood.

angel & fox: Black gold. Texas T.

Rush: Yes, listen to angel…words of wisdom…

Mike in DC: 14 minute serial…2 of which are the intro music. This is the Mahler symphony of radio themes

angel & fox: “At hand”—what is this, SEVEN WEEKS?

angel & fox: Mike: You are SO right, AND/BUT it’s ALSO the radio theme of Mahler symphonies. Dangerous.

angel & fox: WHAT? No BOMBSHELLS?

angel & fox: I love the Irish Chinese.

Rush: 🙂

angel & fox: Here in Boston we call them Lace Curtain Ch— well, anyway, Lace Curtain.

Rush: her voice is a bit hard to hear.

angel & fox: A mercy upon all.

Rush: 🙂

angel & fox: “Brings ruin to others than himself”. Yeah. Us.

Rush: I believe this is the largest crowd lately fir the “extra”.

Rush: Next week we have a single-part radio drama.

angel & fox: I’m going to try, now that my home search is done, to be here more promptly,

Rush: Next year it will be ALL keye Luke film serials.

angel & fox: NICE!!!

Mike in DC: Looking forward to them, Rush.

hounder: did i miss you buying a house angel?

Rush: Murmuring….

Rush: More murmuring…

Rush: Even more…

Rush: We have a home in escrow in Iowa.

angel & fox: Hey, Scholars—what would be the chance of some or one of you playwrights sending the Delightfully Fascinating Detective in quest of the Epstein matter? Too sensitive?

Rush: That will eventually be our new home.

angel & fox: I thought Escrow was in Tennessee.

angel & fox: Seriously—in what town, Rush? I was just out there in August, for family.

Rush: Bettendorf.

Rush: In the Quad Cities.

angel & fox: I’ll look it up…Oh, there ya go!

Rush: On the Mississippi.

hounder: Congrats Rush.I will be diffeent than ca

Rush: Oh, yes!

Rush: First…AFFORDABLE!

Rush: We actually might be able to retire one day!

Rush: 🙂

angel & fox: In my future home state North Carolina, there is—not too far from my new home—a place called Grabtown. I’ve already told friends it OUGHT to be the seat of All Things Bright And Federal.

Rush: Yes, Angel?

hounder: where iin nc angel?

Len Freeman: Excellent…. Within a days run from Minneapolis

angel & fox: I’m talking over the criminals, excuse me. But CONGRATS, Rush! Get outta there!

Rush: I went back there a couple weeks ago to see the houses we were interested in.

Rush: Found THE home.

angel & fox: And the murderer is…IMELDA MARCOS!

hounder: wonderful!!

Rush: We will, angel!

angel & fox: Rush, that

angel & fox: that’s GREAT!

Mike in DC: 🙂

Rush: One fear I have is that before we sell our present home the state might come up with a law requiring all sellers to first install solar panels!

angel & fox: My brother & family had lived in Cali 25 years or so, & he decided on birth of twins Cali is no place for kids & they loaded up the truck & they moved to I-o-way. Hills, that is. Black gold….

hounder: oh ihope not rush.

Rush: One never knows in CA.

angel & fox: GERALD! Bracelets become you!

Rush: Chan proves his suspicions ezpressed earlier.

angel & fox: His very boldness…

angel & fox: (Your Terraplane Dealer)

angel & fox: (Lucky Strike)

Rush: (Place commercial here)

Rush: Probably, Angel!

angel & fox: (Loosener’s Castor Oil Flakes)

Mike in DC: Grove’s Bromo-Quinine Tablets

Rush: Or Life Buoy Soap…

angel & fox: Touche!! Tootooche!

Rush: 🙂

angel & fox: L-A-V-A, L-A-V-A!

angel & fox: p-e-t-r-i !

Rush: And now..final words of wisdom from Charlie Chan….

angel & fox: I’m wiping smile off face right NOW.

Rush: Too much for me to remember and type!

angel & fox: Carefully tended, polar bears will probably eat it.

Rush: Yes!

angel & fox: Good thing Gerald is in jail.

Len Freeman: a quick wrap-up

angel & fox: Probably still there.

Rush: THE END….

Nothere has joined this room

Rush: (Applause….)

Rush: Nothere!

angel & fox: Mercifully!

Rush: WELCOME!

Nothere: So Rush do you want me to send my address to the message or bulitien board?

angel & fox: NOTTY! You JUST MISSED the Solution!

Rush: NT…have you sent me an address yet?

Nothere: Oh please it was the butler.

angel & fox: Col. Willoughby is STILL DEAD.

Rush: (While I am thinking of it!)

Rush: No…it was the nephew.

angel & fox: The guilty party was sentenced to BE a butler. Sounds like there could be a story in that—

angel & fox: Gesundheit!!

Nothere: That’s what they want you to think Rush And like I asked where do I snd it the message or buliten board?

Rush: Again…sadly, our feature is not available anywhere that I could locate on the Internet.

Rush: You can send it to our email address…more private!

Rush: charliechanfamily@yahoo.com

Godwinshelley2: Shame we don’t have a site to temporarily upload it and then bring it down

angel & fox: Catch you-all on the flip side. Miss Hathaway & Mr. Drysdale want to see me about Jethro & Elly Mae’s garden. They say they smell smoke.

Rush: Wish we did, GS!

Nothere: THat what I wanted to do, but I can’t find it. I guess I wrote the site name down wrong. The one I wrote kept bringing me here. And I can’t find an email here.

Len Freeman: SO this one is on the Chanthology set

Rush: If anyone could figure out such a means of sharing, please let me know!

Godwinshelley2: I have it from a smaller set – not Chantology

Nothere: Bye Angel

Rush: This one is found in the “Charlie Chan Collection”

Rush: A collection of four Chan movies.

Godwinshelley2: Red box with 4 dvds

Rush: Yes.

Rush: That’s it.

Rush: 12 1/2 minutes….

Len Freeman: My bad — it’s Shang COBRA that’s on Chanthology

Rush: GS, perhaps after our move, I may just be able to make one of those shows on the East Coast!

Rush: Yes, Len…

Rush: Tonight another “Shanghai.”

Nothere: GIJOE

Rush: “The Shanghai Chest.”

Len Freeman: How DOES one put things up on You Tube?\

Godwinshelley2: Rush we would be honored to have you out here

Rush: I have never learned that, Len!

Godwinshelley2: When does the move happen?

Rush: The honor would…hopefully WILL…be mine!

Godwinshelley2: Paul attends a lot of the same ones as myself

Rush: FIVE minutes to go…

Rush: I made a mistake earlier….

Rush: 5 minutes….

Rush: Looking at my analog clock.

Godwinshelley2: Well if you want to see the Atlantic ocean, you can always bunk here at our place in Delaware – we have 2 guest rooms

Rush: 4 minutes…

Godwinshelley2: And a fine collection of Chan films

Rush: Yes.

Godwinshelley2: If you would like to make a presentation ON Chan films, we might get you invited to the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention – or maybe Monster Bash

Godwinshelley2: as a presenter

Rush: And, as always…please pause at the opening title.

Nothere: So how do I get to the email. Putting in Charliechanfamily@yahoo.com just brings me here.

Rush: We can talk about that, GS.

Godwinshelley2: Sounds good

Rush: 🙂

Rush: THREE minutes…

Nothere: But can we get him more imdb credits?

Rush: 2 1/2 minutes…

Nothere: GENTLEMEN START YOUR ENGINES!

Rush: NT: 🙂

Mike in DC: Rachel was super impressed to see Rush on IMDB. 🙂

Rush: TWO minutes…

Godwinshelley2: Well he IS impressive

Rush: Matt is somewhere on his cruise.

hounder: hi nt. see you all next week and i’ll try

Nothere: HEy Hound

Rush: Can’t stay, Hounder?

Godwinshelley2: Not the one that had all the sick people??

Godwinshelley2: Night Hounder

Rush: 75 seconds…

Rush: Good night, Hounder…

Rush: Stay safe…

Rush: 60 seconds…

hounder has left this room

Rush: 50 seconds…

Rush: 40 seconds…

Len Freeman: OK ready to go

Rush: 30 seconds…

Rush: 25…

Mike in DC: tightens chin strap

Rush: 20…

Rush: Very good…

Rush: 15…

Rush: 10…

Mike in DC: lights fuse

Rush: 5…

Rush: GO!!!

Mike in DC: gong

Rush: Music and title…

Godwinshelley2: 1948

Rush: Credits…

Rush: yes….1948.

Godwinshelley2: Milton Parsons! Alright

Mike in DC: Nice Monogram backdrop for credits.

Rush: Our old friend Russell Hicks is in this one.

Godwinshelley2: Additional Dialog – is this from a Wong film?

Rush: First seen in another “Shanghai.”

Len Freeman: Scott Darling wrote a lot of these

Mike in DC: Still hanging around “Shanghai!”

Rush: Yes, Mike!

Godwinshelley2: Is there a shop that sells skulking coats hats and gloves in San fran?

Godwinshelley2: That’s a nice dressing jacket – hope Louise caught that one

Rush: No, this one was not adapted fro a Mr. Wong film.

Mike in DC: Eeek

Mike in DC: Knife + sinister music

Rush: The working title for this one was: “Murder By Alphabet.”

Mike in DC: Alphabet? K.N.I.F.E.

Rush: 🙂

Godwinshelley2: Love the subtitles [Gate Squeaks]

Rush: No…”Armstrong.”

Godwinshelley2: [Vic Grunts]

Rush: COMPLETE subtitles!

Rush: “Sound of knife entering back.”

angel & fox: I was out of room! Somebody has KNIFE in dark now??

Godwinshelley2: car pulls up[

Rush: Yes, Angel…you missed the murder!

Rush: No wasting time, tonight!

Mike in DC:

Rush: TYSM, Mike!

angel & fox: Now skulking in dark?

angel & fox: PHONE RING????

Godwinshelley2: Nothing like Perry Mason that takes half the show getting to the murder

Rush: “Let me look as incriminating as possible….”

Godwinshelley2: lights on – three men walk in

Godwinshelley2: He will have contusions to prove he was clobbered

Godwinshelley2: LOVE the cape

Rush: My thought too, GS.

angel & fox: Am i off, time-wise?

Rush: Yes to the cape.

Rush: 6:30

Godwinshelley2: Yes Angel – we’re at 6:30

Rush: 6:45

Nothere: So when you go to entrance and click on charliechanfamily@yahoo.com do you go anywhere?

Rush: “The Hatchet in the Head”

Godwinshelley2: Nothere that is an email address

Rush: 7:10

Godwinshelley2: are you trying to email?

Mike in DC: Sounds like MST3K fodder Rush

Rush: No, NT. You heed to type it into an email message.

Rush: (need)

Rush: poor BB…

Godwinshelley2: Just copy the address and then go to your email engine

angel & fox: Lee & BB walking on street, on MY screen. Yes? No?

Nothere: Yeah. And I think I see the problem. I’m trying to use an email address as a site address. I know how to computer:(

Godwinshelley2: He might be having premonitions about his time in SpiderBaby

Rush: Uh-oh…

Mike in DC: They just arrived in their jail cell, Angel

angel & fox: “Catch ’em redhanded”–

Rush: Are you synced with us, angel?

angel & fox: GOT ’em! In jail!!

Godwinshelley2: I like the term “Sitting Assistants” best

Rush: “Have two ears, but can only hear one thing at time.”

Rush: yes, GS!

angel & fox: HOW many times in The Canon did CC face [#_]Son thru jailbars?

angel & fox: HE looked suspicious?!!

Rush: “Night in Bastille not exactly bed of roses.’

angel & fox: “Would have been better if YOU had not.”

angel & fox: I know why the caged Chan sings.

Mike in DC: Three? If you count the one where he went in the jail cell…

Rush: bastille – A prison; a jail. The Bastille was an infamous prison located in Paris in pre-revolutionary France.

Nothere: True unlike Sing Sing there is no nightly sing along.

Rush: 🙂

angel & fox: NT

Rush: Russell Hicks at the desk.

angel & fox: I’ll have to try that with my new place.

Godwinshelley2: Using flashbacks to reduce storytelling

angel & fox: Everyplace i go there’s hicks at the desk. The ones with skirts rustle.

angel & fox: (Thanks Jack Benny for that last line)

Rush: 🙂

Godwinshelley2: Like her blouse

Rush: Nix on dem hicks.

Godwinshelley2: And that belt could be on WonderWoman

Rush: Yes, GS.

angel & fox: She DOES seem to be wearing an entire geometry text.

Rush: Actually the whole outfit.

Nothere: But where are our fancy furs?

Mike in DC: She’s a heavyweight champ, perhaps?

angel & fox: At LEAST!!

Rush: 🙂

angel & fox: Furs? Fox & me are sharing ONE.

angel & fox: Why, are the others MISSING?

Godwinshelley2: Sorry NT – we are now of lessor wealth – buses instead of cruiseliners and plaid instead of furs

Rush: I suppose it may have been used in an episode of “Space patrol.”

angel & fox: WHAT of the Pan American Clipper?

Godwinshelley2: Rush – I’ll try to let you know if I see a Peplum in this film

Nothere: But only the most elegant of bus lines.

Rush: Deal, GS!

angel & fox: Mr. Bronson is still pissed: he’d invented a burner, & that Bunsen bastard got to the patent office ahead of him because of daylight saving time.

Godwinshelley2: The buses are amazingly WIDE in seating and isles

angel & fox: Notty: Elegant, to be sure. Whereof our glory, if we lose our elegance? Especially YOURS!

Rush: A-hem.

Rush: Tony Pindello.

angel & fox: What are those four framed somethings on the wall?

angel & fox: He doesn’t like ANYTHING.

Rush: Landscapes?

angel & fox: Tony Pindello??!!

Rush: “Very funny.”

angel & fox: Horse engravings?

angel & fox: Chinese puzzle! Haha! Racist!!

Rush: The top two look like landscapes with clouds.

angel & fox: Send him to Warsaw. Call it a Poland Spring.

Rush: Willie Best as Willie Best.

Godwinshelley2: Wow he is actually called WILLIE BEST

Nothere: I’ll skip the Poland Winter.

angel & fox: You speaking of Lee & BB, Rush?

Godwinshelley2: Is this the third time Willie was in a Chan film?

angel & fox: The BB doubletalk riff! They DID incorpolate!!

Rush: Got me there, Angel!

Godwinshelley2: He’s not looking as young as in Egypt

angel & fox: In Egypt they were gone longer than anybody’s been gone before. They got ALL of us.

Rush: Stepin Fetchit?

Godwinshelley2: Skulking outfit again

angel & fox: Shoes don’t fail me now!!!!!

Rush: (Lincoln Perry)

Godwinshelley2: Ah perhaps I am mistaken

angel & fox: THE INCREDIBLE SKULK

Rush: Sileced gun.

Len Freeman: SNOW SHOES… was Stepin Fetchit

Rush: Yes.

Nothere: Sadly none of these folks look as young as they did in Egypt. Heck Charlie almost looks like different person.

Mike in DC:

angel & fox: tin can

Rush: TYSM…Mike…Angel.

angel & fox: Charlie had to settle for a roamin’ nose, & ancient grease.

Rush: Second victim.

Rush: Bronson.

Rush: (“Then Went Bronson”)

Nothere: Ah good to have you around to tincan. Sorry Angel but no on ticcans like Mike.

angel & fox: What are your bad news? News is plural.

angel & fox: No offence [british] taken, Notty! Mike is a TC virtuoso.

Rush: Bad news often comes in threes, Angel…

Mike in DC: Matt is the virtuoso…still in the apprentice stage…

angel & fox: I stand ready—to HEAR Mike’s tin can!

angel & fox: They used to rifle files, now they file rifles.

Rush: We will see “that bird” again in “The Feathered Serpent.”

Rush: In that one he plays Professor Scott.

angel & fox: We should have found out more from that bird. Now he’s on the wing, making his lamb, crying wolf in a crowded theater.

Rush: The man picked up by Chan and company as they drive through Mexico.

Nothere: Sorry Angel but he’s no stool pidgeon.

Rush: A real menagerie, Angel!

angel & fox: “Many people greatly exaggerate humble abilities”: CC’s got the 21st Century PEGGED.

Rush: That coat!

angel & fox: Notty,

Mike in DC: Any curtains missing?

Mike in DC: I think she stole one…

Rush: 🙂

angel & fox: That coat looks like it escaped from the Test Pattern.

Mike in DC: “Do not attempt to adjust your TV set”

angel & fox: Coat so loud it awakens folks yet unborn. Oooof!

Rush: That’s pretty loud, Angel!

angel & fox: He was a GREAT dictator.

Mike in DC: No wonder I slept poorly as a child, Angel.

angel & fox: Mike, i’m just reporting facts.

Rush: Yes.

angel & fox: Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Rush: The killer is after the whole jury.

Mike in DC: Leaping to a few conclusions…and how do you find out the names of the jurors?

angel & fox: AH, the old Kill Off The Jury One-By-One wheeze!!

Mike in DC: One of my favorite scenes. “Dig.”

Nothere: Ah the classic. I wonder if anyone ever actually went after a jury member. According to tv and movies they do it like once a wek.

Rush: On eBay a nice lobby card showing this graveyard scene pops up from time to time.

angel & fox: They did the Mash.

Nothere: week even:)

angel & fox: “Pops up”?!!

Rush: well…appears…!

Len Freeman: THE Monogram cemetery… iots of use

angel & fox: They worked bizarre hours back then. What, were no bars open?

Mike in DC: “Dig.”

Rush: Yes, Len!

Mike in DC: “Dig.”

angel & fox: Dig.

Mike in DC: I dig.

Rush: “I’ll dig, but my heart ain’t in it…”

angel & fox: Dig dig dig, dig-a-rooney, dig-dig-dig, dig-a-rooney!

angel & fox: Dig, you crazy cats!!

Nothere: I don’t dig it daddio.

Mike in DC: Surprised detective might as well clutch iron ball and dive in lake.

Rush: Angel…that one crossed my mind, too…

angel & fox: I’m still stuck on the iron ball & the lake.

Rush: Poor BB!

angel & fox: BOHEMIAN GRAVE!

Rush: Thomas CARTWRIGHT.

Mike in DC: Iron ball and tin can. Now iron donkey. Metallurgical installment in Chan canon.

angel & fox: Iron donkey musta made off with the iron ball. Donkey musta jumped in lake. New name Rusty.

Rush: 🙂

angel & fox: Mike, you & i must be on some solar wave or something tonite!!

Nothere: Well I didn’t find the picture, but I did find a trivia question. Monogram’s last picture was the Wild Geese in 1978, but it also ended another film mainstay. What was it?

angel & fox: (Your Terraplane Dealer)

Rush: A citywide search of insurance companies!

Rush: Shot od Chinatown.

angel & fox: WHAT could it have been, Notty? I FEAR to ask!

Rush: (of)

Mike in DC: I hope they divided up geographically and not alphabetically

angel & fox: NICE LEGS!

Godwinshelley2: I should look for that Sing Chong building

Rush: This actress went by the name “Chbing.”

angel & fox: He order oatmeal?

Rush: (Chabing)

Nothere: It was the last Allied Artist film.

Mike in DC: Chinese woman working in store in Chinatown does not speak Chinese?

angel & fox: Rush…she in IMDb?

Godwinshelley2: Those eyebrows are a bit much

Rush: (“Cha-BING”)

Nothere: Long as she can work the register Mike

Godwinshelley2: And the angle of her air barrett accentuates the angle of her eyebrows

angel & fox: NO! Allied Artist! We hardly knew thee! Who was they, Notty? The complete dirt, please.

angel & fox: Your red scarf matches your eyes…

Rush: A rude awakening!

Rush: Angel: 🙂

Cdirus has joined this room

Mike in DC: I feel a tin can coming on…

angel & fox: Cartwright—not HOSS?!

angel & fox: cd!!

Nothere: Hi Cd

Mike in DC: Hello CD!

Rush: “….Shakespeare.”

angel & fox: You’re just in time, can about to be flung!

Cdirus: Hi guys.

Rush: Good evening, CD!

Mike in DC: Alive and well…

Rush: WELCOME!

angel & fox: Notty, we need a Chan NOW!!

Mike in DC: Where did this music come from?

angel & fox: We’ll call you, Mike, after “T”.

Nothere: Well in that case may I recommend the Shanghai Chest. You need to talk to the all wise Rush.

Rush: Are you able to watch along with us, CD?

angel & fox: We gotta get out of this place—

Cdirus: Hey, I’m trying to eat healthy for once

angel & fox: cd, don’t overdo it!

Cdirus: Ok, Mike, it still seemed a little hard, so I’ll leave it a little longer

Rush: Never have a police officer with a sloppily placed hat stand guard.

angel & fox: “Suspicious cars”. Like Ric Ocasek?

Rush: And…may he rest in peace….

angel & fox: This babe goes to back of the class LIKE NOW.

Mike in DC: My mom had berets like that.

Rush: RUTH?

angel & fox: I wonder where Ruth is.

Mike in DC: She looks like she rockin’ the Lauren Bacall look

Rush: A beret looks nice.

Nothere: No! We can’t be Ruth less.

Mike in DC: Firesign Theater, NT. 🙂

angel & fox: Brains & Beauty dance in streets together? DRUNK, probably!!

Rush: “AAA Funeral parlor.”

Mike in DC: Good evening, NT see you next week!

Len Freeman: He was in a ton of films… and later TV. The first Rodketman

Rush: 🙂

Mike in DC: You should see their roadside assistance, Angel!

angel & fox: EVERYBODY should be REQUIRED to go around in groups. ALLATIME. For EVERYTHING.

Rush: Poor BB….

Rush: “I’ll go, but my heart ain’t in it.”

Godwinshelley2: Again, considering what happens to Mantan in Spider Baby, he should stay away from entering open windows

Mike in DC: Whoa, boy

Rush: “Not now….I’ll tell you when….”

Mike in DC: Now?

Rush: (Yawn….)

Rush: “Now’s the time…”

Rush: Breaking and entering.

Rush: Grail…sorry!

Rush: I heard “Graves” earlier!

Rush: Oh, well…

Rush: I guess it is still appropriate…

Rush: Chan found “the grail.”

Godwinshelley2: yes

Rush: 🙂

Mike in DC: Hasn’t the nerve.

Rush: Just smart enough not to!

angel & fox: I also liked that “Grail”, kinda saw it coming.

Godwinshelley2: As an Undertaker, he is in a unique position to dispose of bodies

Rush: Is that a French horn in that music earlier, Mike?

Len Freeman: Winters a very different sort of Chan…. toougher

Rush: I agree, Len.

angel & fox: At one’s disposal, i guess.

Rush: AH!

Rush: There is the “Shanghai Chest”!

Rush: And…with CLASS!

Rush: “Torn with grief to disagree…”

angel & fox: Digdigdig!

Mike in DC: Looks a little like Harold Huber.

Godwinshelley2: What do you do with the body after you dig it up? It’s a bit large to hide

Rush: Tommy to the rescue!

Rush: Yes, GS.

Mike in DC: He not murderer.

Rush: We can only imagine.

Len Freeman has left this room

Rush: Thank you, agai…everyone!

Godwinshelley2→Rush: So what’s up with the possible move?

Rush: (again)

Rush: AH!

Godwinshelley2: Good job prospect?

Cdirus has left this room

Rush: We have been thinking for some time about relocating…somewhere.

Rush: We searched….

Godwinshelley2: Delaware is a good tax state

Godwinshelley2: Not too hot or not too cold

Rush: Years ago, we went through Iowa, and felt relly nice about it.

Rush: We visited again two years ago on a road trip.

Rush: Same.

Rush: So…we got serious.

Godwinshelley2: Haven’t been to Iowa

Godwinshelley2: Herb liked Idaho

Rush: And, now we have a home in the works.

Godwinshelley2: Building

Rush: Yes…we considered that as well…Idaho.

Godwinshelley2: Boise might be out priced now

Rush: Just didn’t “grab’ us.

Godwinshelley2: I understand

Rush: housing is going higher.

Godwinshelley2: Looking for a job

Godwinshelley2: Going from CA you have more buying power than going the other way

Rush: And, I sense that Idahoans might be tiring of californians moving in…and I understand that.

Rush: yes. I will be looking.

Rush: I talked with someone at the high school that Rachel will be attending.

Rush: She told me that there is a great need for special educators.

Godwinshelley2: for a job or just checking out for Rachel

Godwinshelley2: Wow – right up your alley

Rush: So, that could work out.

Rush: Yes.

Godwinshelley2: That is always good

Godwinshelley2: And sometimes you need to move just to shake things up a bit

Rush: The current plan is to rent the home out and then take it over in the summer of 2021.

Godwinshelley2: Stops you from too much junk

Rush: i am ready at any time, though!

Godwinshelley2: Rent the Idaho house

Godwinshelley2: Sell the CA house

Rush: Iowa house.

Godwinshelley2: OK – I keep messing that up – And I came from an “I” state – Indiana

Rush: Yes, sell our present home…get enough to pay off the loan on the Iowa house.

Godwinshelley2: Well that sounds like a good plan

Rush: No house payments…just property tax, etc.

Godwinshelley2: How is Rachel about moving

Rush: Today she sounded ready to leave asap!

Rush: We are all off this week.

Godwinshelley2: HA! Move while the iron is hot then

Rush: Maybe.

Rush: We will see.

Godwinshelley2: But halfway through the packing, it won’t be as exciting

Rush: But, at least we are moving along with this.

Godwinshelley2: Sounds great

Rush: Agreed!

Rush: We are already going through stuff.

Rush: getting rid of things.

Rush: LOTS to get rid of.

Godwinshelley2: Don’t know what I could do for you from out here, but let me know if anything comes up

Godwinshelley2: Yes I know about the declutterint

Godwinshelley2: ering

Rush: Just encouragement!

Rush: That helps!

Rush: 🙂

Godwinshelley2: It does get better, keep moving forward – even just one step – each day

Godwinshelley2: And don’t get hooked on “selling” stuff – if it finds a home, that is good

Rush: And, I hope that all will go well for you as you take care of those who need help presently in your life.

Rush: You said you got a tempory job?

Godwinshelley2: Yes – it’s a window on our own futures – good to offer help as needed – paying forward

Rush: This is something on top of what you are doing?

Godwinshelley2: Yes – one day a week temp job

Godwinshelley2: Paying for my Yarn habit

Rush: Every bit helps!

Godwinshelley2: ANd getting to know the location and people better

Godwinshelley2: Temping helped me learn Maryland when we first moved there

Rush: And if you get paid for doing something that is a passion…a bonus!

Godwinshelley2: I needed to start reaching out here in Delaware

Rush: Yes.

Rush: Good idea.

Godwinshelley2: That is true – and it turned out about halfway to the Assisted Living place – so I am working and spending time with Mary – works well

Rush: We will be going out to Iowa as a family during easter break.

Godwinshelley2: So I am feeling usefule

Godwinshelley2: useful

Rush: We want to start meeting people.

Godwinshelley2: NICE – Easter and spring is a nice time to see what it looks like

Rush: Rachel will see her future high school, and maybe meet a future friend or two.

Godwinshelley2: Winter is trickier

Rush: yes!

Rush: marie and I are going out at the end of january to close on the home.

Godwinshelley2: IF you were on Facebook – you could start connecting to things in that town

Rush: Yes…that is so.

Rush: I might be convinced to do that!

Godwinshelley2: Might want to friend the high school to watch their activities

Godwinshelley2: That is how I learn a lot about this new location

Rush: i might go through our realtor who has been VERY helpful!

Rush: I can ask her about that.

Godwinshelley2: Well – if you need any facebook help, let me know

Rush: What she might suggest.

Rush: i will!

Rush: Thank you!

Godwinshelley2: And she would know good things to like (Chamber of Commerce, High School, etc.

Rush: I just want to avoid the “drama” that is rampant on social media!

Rush: Yes. Sounds good.

Godwinshelley2: And if there is a local newspaper, they might be available through facebook

Godwinshelley2: Yes, facebook is both a tool and an enabler

Rush: Yes, we have found a good local paper.

Rush: Well, I appreciate your expertise and help!

Godwinshelley2: And it’s such a part of everything, it’s important to know how to use it properly

Rush: That’s true!

Godwinshelley2: Maybe subscribe to the paper on-line to read it once a week

Godwinshelley2: As a start

Rush: I can get it for, I believe, $10 per month online.

Godwinshelley2: Do they have a movie theater in the town?

Rush: I take a look at the free things now.

Godwinshelley2: and is there a college or comm college in town?

Rush: yes.

Rush: The area we will be moving to is not a tiny community.

Godwinshelley2: Excellent – a theater and a college makes a good town indeed

Rush: Yes!

Godwinshelley2: Any mass transit?

Rush: There are both…and more.

Godwinshelley2: Sounds like a winner to me. Good searching

Rush: I saw some bus lines.

Rush: TYSM!

Rush: Well…

Rush: Take care…

Godwinshelley2: OK – then Rachel can learn to get around without having to buy her a car later of course

Godwinshelley2: OK

Godwinshelley2: Have a good holiday

Rush: Yes!

Rush: 🙂

Godwinshelley2: Night

Rush: Okay…

Rush: You too!

Rush: Good night….

Godwinshelley2 has left this room

Rush: Talk more later…
