Hawaii_Steve:
Aloha from a sick birthday boy. So sad.

01-09 18:29
Rush:
Hi, Steve, and a birthday ALOHA to you!

01-09 18:30
Rush:
I hope that you feel a lot better very soon.

01-09 18:30
Matt:
Hello Rush and Alohaaaa and a Happy Birthday Steve!

01-09 18:31
Rush:
Like I said, there is just so much going around now!
Hello, Matrt!
Good evening!
You see that I was able to make it on time.

01-09 18:31
Matt:
Hope all went well today?

01-09 18:31
Rush:
I was able to get an earlier appointment as there was a cancellation.

01-09 18:31
Matt:
Very good

01-09 18:31
Rush:
It did, thank you. first day back to work.

01-09 18:32
Hawaii_Steve:
Last week, I attended a court hearing and stood near an air conditions system. I think that where I caught my cold.

01-09 18:32
Rush:
It is Steve’s birthday today, and, sadly, he’s a but under the weather.

01-09 18:32
Matt:
Hope you feel better soon Steve

01-09 18:32
Rush:
I can really identify with that!

01-09 18:32
Hawaii_Steve:
Aloha to Matt. Thank you for the birthday greeting earlier today. (smile)

01-09 18:33
Rush:
Yes, Steve!
That can happen.

01-09 18:33
Matt:
A cold in Hawaii? SO wrong!

01-09 18:33
Hawaii_Steve:
I have the volume on and up on my computer. I hear “pops” each time someone sends a message.

01-09 18:33
Rush:
Me as well.

01-09 18:33
Hawaii_Steve:
Yes Matt.

01-09 18:33
Matt:
You can silence the “pop”

01-09 18:34
Rush:
If wanted, yes.

01-09 18:34
Hawaii_Steve:
No. I like the pop. Lets me know that somebody is writing something.

01-09 18:34
Matt:
Makes me desire popcorn

01-09 18:35
Rush:
Wait until Louise arrives! She has a whole collection of sounds!

01-09 18:35
Hawaii_Steve:
LOL.
I can hardly wait.

01-09 18:35
Matt:
Hello M & R!

01-09 18:35
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Good evening all!

01-09 18:36
Rush:
I think she may share some of the sound files with us.
Mike and rachel!
GOOD EVENING to you both!!!

01-09 18:36
Hawaii_Steve:
Aloha Mike and Rachel.

01-09 18:36
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Aloha, Steve. Good to see you…HNY!

01-09 18:36
Hawaii_Steve:

01-09 18:36
Rush:
There you go!

01-09 18:37
Matt:

01-09 18:37
Hawaii_Steve:
Please help yourself to some cake. The cake is on me … sort of speak.

01-09 18:37
Rush:

01-09 18:37
Mike n Rachel in DC:

Make a wish, Rush

01-09 18:37
Hawaii_Steve:

01-09 18:38
Rush:
AH!

01-09 18:38
Matt:
Look at those two!

01-09 18:38
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Look at those two distinguished gentlemen!

01-09 18:38
Hawaii_Steve:
Trying a few extras.

01-09 18:38
Rush:
That was a WONDERFUL time, was it not?

01-09 18:38
Hawaii_Steve:
Where? Where?

01-09 18:39
Rush:
Speaking of extras…tonight we have but one, but it’s a “goody.”

01-09 18:39
Hawaii_Steve:
This chat room is so much better than the old one. We thinks.

01-09 18:39
Rush:
The trailer for “Charlie Chan Carries On.”

01-09 18:39
Mike n Rachel in DC:
LOL Steve. You’re channeling the Three Stooges.

01-09 18:39
Rush:
I do agree, Steve!

01-09 18:39
Matt:
Agreed!

01-09 18:40
Hawaii_Steve:
“Gentlemen” I love the stooges, when Larry says, “Who came in?”

01-09 18:40
Mike n Rachel in DC:
We do too. Rachel: OH WOW!

01-09 18:40
Rush:
And, i don’t think anyone geets “booted” for non activity.

01-09 18:40
Matt:
Not yet!

01-09 18:40
Hawaii_Steve:

01-09 18:41
Rush:
The Boys!

01-09 18:41
Matt:
Later years

01-09 18:41
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Fun-nee!

01-09 18:41
Rush:
Circa 1961, i’d say.

01-09 18:41
Mike n Rachel in DC:
That looks like it might have been from my youth

01-09 18:41
Hawaii_Steve:
When I was a teenager, I watch the Stooge features on the big screen.

01-09 18:41
Mike n Rachel in DC:
1961? Then yes, it was.

01-09 18:41
Rush:
Yes!

01-09 18:42
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Rachel: Jeez. You’re old.

01-09 18:42
Matt:
lol

01-09 18:42
Rush:
MeTV runs two hours of the Three Stooges before Svengoolie!

01-09 18:42
Mike n Rachel in DC:
These children I tell you…no respect these days

01-09 18:42
Rush:

01-09 18:43
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Steve, there was an annual Three Stooges marathon in a movie theater in Ann Arbor when I was in school. I would nearly expire from laughing every year.

01-09 18:43
Rush:
My local TV ran the Three Stooges shorts in the morning, and I watched them before walking to school!

01-09 18:44
Matt:
What a way to go off to school….with a smile!

01-09 18:44
Mike n Rachel in DC:
The plumbers were a favorite…as well as Nacki, Waki and Saki

01-09 18:44
Rush:
Yes, Mike?

01-09 18:44
Hawaii_Steve:
Years ago, I bought the entire Columbia shorts collection at Costco. As an adult, its amazing to watch these guys. The timing. The expressions. Wonderful.

01-09 18:44
Rush:
True, Matt…!
I have that set as well, Steve!@

01-09 18:46
Rush:
I am not too fond of the Joe Besser ones.

01-09 18:46
Hawaii_Steve:
When I worked as a stock broker’s assistant, I met Joan Howard Maurer, daughter of Moe. Shearson handled her stock account.

01-09 18:46
Matt:
How cool

01-09 18:46
Rush:
Mantan Moreland would have neen MAGIC for the series!

01-09 18:46
Matt:
Yes!

01-09 18:46
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Fascinating, Steve.

01-09 18:47
Rush:
really, Steve! NICE!!

01-09 18:47
Hawaii_Steve:
Joan invited me over to her house. We had a drink together. And spoke about stooge scripts.

01-09 18:47
Rush:
WOW!

01-09 18:47
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Was her father still alive at the time?

01-09 18:48
Rush:
On occasion one can see how some material was “borrowed” from Laurel and Hardy!

01-09 18:48
Hawaii_Steve:
I met Joan around 1990. Moe died in 1975, I believe.

01-09 18:48
Rush:
Yes.

01-09 18:49
Rush:
Just after he was on the Mike Douglas Show.
And, THAT is calssic!
CLASSIC, as well!

01-09 18:49
Hawaii_Steve:
My favorite stooge feature is Around the World in a Daze. I was trying to get a copy of the script from Joan. It didn’t happen.

01-09 18:49
Rush:
AH!

01-09 18:49
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Gotcha. There was a film host in Detroit (Bill Kennedy)…from time to time he would get Moe or Larry on the phone and do a phone interview with them.
That would have been a treasure, Steve.

01-09 18:50
Rush:
When I was in Jr. High in the L.A. area, Billy Barty had a cartoon show, and on occasion the Three Stooges showed up!
He ran the Three Stooges cartoons.

01-09 18:51
Hawaii_Steve:
GodwynShelley got me a DVD of Moe on the Mike Douglas Show. Just wonderful. Moe was my favorite stooge.

01-09 18:51
Mike n Rachel in DC:
That must have been a treat. I recall that Moe and Larry were always so grateful to be remembered.

01-09 18:51
Rush:
Moe was GREAT!
My sister didn’t like him as she thought he was mean to the others!

01-09 18:52
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Ha. The Three Stooges would probably be censored for violence or something nowadays. Very glad I got to see them when I did.

01-09 18:52
Matt:
I was a Curly and Larry fan, especially since Larry was from Philly

01-09 18:52
Rush:
I see we have one “viewer.” I wonder if that could be Angel trying to enter.
Two now!

01-09 18:52
Hawaii_Steve:
Most women are not fans of the Stooges. Or Laurel & Hardy. Disrespectful toward women.

01-09 18:52
Rush:
Arrivals at the fron t door!

01-09 18:53
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Hm. Our viewership is increasing, Rush.
Or maybe it’s the pizza I ordered?

01-09 18:53
Matt:
C’mon In!

01-09 18:53
Rush:
well…how about we run the extra?

01-09 18:53
Matt:
Hello Angel!

01-09 18:53
Rush:

01-09 18:53
Mike n Rachel in DC:

01-09 18:53
Matt:

01-09 18:53
Rush:

01-09 18:53
Mike n Rachel in DC:

01-09 18:54
Rush:

01-09 18:54
Hawaii_Steve:

01-09 18:54
Rush:

01-09 18:54
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Ready here.

01-09 18:55

Hawaii_Steve:
Geno’s house of rare films.

01-09 18:55
Rush:
GO!!!

01-09 18:56
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Hm. Edit: How about “based on” instead of “based off of”

01-09 18:56
Rush:
Here we go…finally!

01-09 18:59
Rush:
And there we have it!

01-09 18:59
Hawaii_Steve:
Amazing.

01-09 18:59
Matt:
Thnx Rush!

01-09 18:59
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Very nice. Oland looked quite young in that film!

01-09 18:59
Rush:
I remember hearing about the existence of this trailer about 15 years ago!

01-09 19:00
Mike n Rachel in DC:
We could see a glimpse of how he started with the Chan character too…it’s a great find.

01-09 19:00
Matt:
A & F!

01-09 19:00
Rush:
Then it was kept by the Library of Congress.

01-09 19:00
Hawaii_Steve:
Sometimes, trailers are made up of footage not used in the feature film. Could be true with CC Caries On.

01-09 19:00
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Has an Angel appeared?

01-09 19:00
Matt:
As we still hold out hope for the lost film

01-09 19:00
Rush:
Finally, it became available, and it is quite a little gem, is it not?
I think he left.

01-09 19:01
Mike n Rachel in DC:
Yes. It definitely whets the appetite for more.

01-09 19:01
Rush:
BACK! As his usualy self…with FOXX!
Welcome back, Angel!!!
I hope that he can post.

01-09 19:03
Rush:
12 minutes until showtime!

01-09 19:03
Hawaii_Steve:
Angel can post. He just being coy.

01-09 19:03
Rush:

01-09 19:03
Matt:
Hello Duane!

01-09 19:03
Rush:
I know that he’s had some techical issues. Last week he could only enter through Facebook.

01-09 19:03
Duane:
Hello all

01-09 19:04
Rush:
Duane!!!
WELCOME!!!
How are you this evening?

01-09 19:04
Duane:
Thank you Rush

01-09 19:04
Hounder:
Hi all. Just a quick check in as I have company!

01-09 19:04
Rush:
Hounder!

01-09 19:04
Duane:
Fine

01-09 19:04
Matt:
Hello Hounder!

01-09 19:04
Rush:
How’s your mother, hounder?

01-09 19:04
Hounder:
Hi Duane. Welcome.

01-09 19:05
Rush:
Happy to hear, Duane!

01-09 19:05
Hawaii_Steve:
It my opinion that the film archives, from around the world, communicate with one another. If we haven’t found the “missing” Chan films during the last 50 years, I believe that we never will.

01-09 19:05
Hounder:
Mom’s doing ok. Hanging in there.

01-09 19:05
Rush:
Looking that way, Steve….sadly….
Good to hear that, Hounder.

01-09 19:06
Duane:
New site is great thank you

01-09 19:06
Hawaii_Steve:
Even the film archives in Communist countries communicate to the USA and England … with regard to saving old films.

01-09 19:06
Hounder:
See you all next week. Tell the others I said hi.

01-09 19:07
Hawaii_Steve:
Aloha Hounder.

01-09 19:07
Matt:
Take care Hounder

01-09 19:07
Rush:
If anyone needs a copy of the film to watch, here is the address to an online copy…

There were no other foreign-language Charlie Chan films made by Hollywood after this one because, shortly after this movie came out, a method of putting sound on the actual film was developed, and so voice dubbing became more practical.

01-09 19:57
Rush:
Duff is at police headquarters.

01-09 19:57
Mike n Rachel in DC:
But less in tune, sadly, Steve.

Angel Santiago Saltamontes:
Sharlie Shan.

01-09 19:58
