Last night, I did a little research on the last years of Warner Oland. I discovered that this man, as beloved as he is, truly had a messed up life.

Conclusion of my Oland research. Warner was his own worst enemy. Granting interviews to the press as Charlie Chan, and not himself. Unable to accept the marriage was over. Nobody helped him with his drinking problem. And he smoked too much. But that were that generation and a reflection of the times.
