Rush: Good evening to you!
Rush: Rachel is out tonight?
Mike in DC: Rachel is exercising…will join in for the feature!

Mike in DC: Green Hornet will have to fly minus Rach.
Rush: You can fill her in!
Mike in DC: Bzzzz.
Rush: 🙂
Mike in DC: How are you (and CA Rachel) this evening? Has she recovered from her fall?
angel & fox: GREETINGS, Honored Detectives! I have MISSED our (approximately) round table, MUST say a hasty Hello but leave on a Mission & miss THIS evening’s installment. Hello hello hello—
Rush: Our Rachel is almost completely healed up.
Mike in DC: Hello Angel (& of course FOX)
Rush: She’s justy about back to 100%….thank you.
Mike in DC: Good news, Rush.
angel & fox: & looking to be with you for the full time NEXT (i hope) WEEK!
Rush: She’s pretty tough.
Mike in DC: Good. 🙂
Rush: Sounds great, Angel!
Mike in DC: We’ll have to get caught up on your adventures, Angel!
Rush: I know that life can get busy.
angel & fox: Please, Mike, give Rachel BEAST WITCHES from New England, & tell her MY FOX is HER FOX. She can have it back when she’s ready!
Mike in DC: lol Will do!
Mike in DC: She looks good in a white fox fur.
Rush: As summer rolls along, i will maybe be arriving a little lat as I will be working at summer session at my school. and my shift will probably end at 8:00 ET.
angel & fox: May you have every good fortune in cracking tonight’s case, AND perp(s). With you in spirit!
Mike in DC: Thanks, Angel. Charlie always gets his man (or woman). We’ll keep an eye on things for you.
Rush: Matt should be off on his cruise as we speak.
Mike in DC: Summer school, Rush? Is this by choice?
Rush: Yes.
Mike in DC: Oh dear. We’ll need a can sub.
Rush: Not the entire summber.
Rush: But a good portion of it.
Rush: we are staying closer to home this year.
Mike in DC: Extra income? Or do you get to teach a fun subject?
Mike in DC: I see…I recall that you have taken some fun trips with your family.
Rush: You guys can “catty on” for the opening portion of our Mondays!
Rush: (CARRY)
Mike in DC: We will struggle forward without you, Rush. 😉
Rush: Not the “meow” kind!
Rush: 🙂
Rush: We can start our serial in around five minutes…
Mike in DC: We’ll be in and out with some trips too. Making a return to (northern) CA in June.
Rush: Tonight’s episode is about 18 minutes.
Rush: SF Bay area?
Mike in DC: Yes. One of my former students teaches there (Santa Clara University), and his brother is a golf pro. They got us tickets to see the US Open at Pebble Beach. We’ll stay and play some golf too.
Rush: I got my copy of “The Green Hornet” ready to go. It took a minute to do…
Rush: WOW! That will be nice!
Rush: Dress warmly!
Mike in DC: Looking forward to it. And for East Costers, California is such a treat in the summer!
Mike in DC: *Coasters

Cdirus: Hi Rachel!
Mike n Rachel in DC: Making post-exercise protein shake now.
Rush: Did you notice the hornet image on the Green Hornet’s mask?
Rush: Tonight is the first time I noticed it.
Rush: Was it there before?
Mike n Rachel in DC: I’m eating a piece of chocolate cake…
Mike n Rachel in DC: I don’t think it was, Rush.
Rush: NICE!
Rush: Yes. seemed new to me!
Rush: We see Wade Boteler in this serial. He was in three Chan films…

Rush: He’s the man in the derby.
Mike n Rachel in DC: Dukas: Sorcerer’s Apprentice
Mike n Rachel in DC: AH.
Mike n Rachel in DC: *zoom*
Rush: We will remember him most from “Circus.”
Mike n Rachel in DC: Nice art deco touch to the car.
Rush: They silenced the motor.
Rush: Yes, M/R!
Cdirus: I thought that was what they said
Rush: The deco touch!
Mike n Rachel in DC: Rachel: “What’s that thing on the Hornet’s mask?”
Mike n Rachel in DC: I think we’re all agreed that it’s new
Rush: That’s the Hornet insignia that I noted earlier.
Rush: This is the first time it appears, i believe.
Rush: Yes.
Rush: They probably thought it was a little boring and needed some “spice.”
Len Freeman has joined this room
Mike n Rachel in DC: Hi Len!
Cdirus: Hi Len!
Rush: Old crop duster fights the wind to land!
Len Freeman: Hi guys.
Rush: Hello, Len!
Mike n Rachel in DC: I hope the Green Hornet *really* likes this piece of music
Len Freeman: Just in briefly to say Hi
Rush: Gooe ecvening and WELCOME!
Rush: The bad guys are off on a bombing run!
Rush: Glad you could make it, Len!
Mike n Rachel in DC: But Snoopy…er…the Green Hornet is off to foil them!
Len Freeman: I’m working on a class on Serials I have to teach fairly soon, so tied up for a couple of weeks, but wanted to say Hi
Mike n Rachel in DC: Hi Len–would be fun to take your class.
Rush: Sounds like a GREAT class, len!
Rush: Lucky students!
Len Freeman: Hope so.
Rush: Any focus serials?
Len Freeman: It’s gotten over subscribed, so I’m feeling a bit under the gun
Mike n Rachel in DC: Flaming Hornet!
Len Freeman: Going to go through the decades… 20s/30s/40s/50s… and match up content to social issues
Len Freeman: reflected in them
Rush: That will not be the Hornet’s plane we saw crash!
Rush: AH! Sounds good, len!
Len Freeman: Oh well… Sometimes you just need the Green Hornet to shoot somebody with a gas gun…
Rush: Yes!
Rush: That DID occur tonight!
Mike n Rachel in DC: …that’s one possible solution to over-subscribed courses…
Rush: Next week: Chapter 8: “Human targets”
Rush: Yes, M/R!
Rush: 🙂
Rush: Okay…15 minutes until “Charlie Chan in City in darkness:
Len Freeman: I’ll ring off… but hopefully enough done to be with you all next week.

Mike n Rachel in DC: Good luck with the course, Len! See you next week.
Len Freeman: Yes — starts June 4
Len Freeman: Thanks. Nite
Rush: Make sure to let us know how it progresses!
Rush: I would like to hear about it!
Rush: “Perils of Pauline.”
Len Freeman has left this room
Rush: But, that would be the ‘teens.

Dona has joined this room
Rush: hello, Dona!
Dona: Hello Everyone!
Mike n Rachel in DC: Hi Dona!
Rush: Good evening to you!
Dona: We are off to Paris tonight!
Mike n Rachel in DC: Oui, Madame!
Cdirus: Hi Dona!
Rush: Tonight’s movie jumps out at us from a very historic time in history!
Dona: Everyone Loves Paris. Even better when the Honorable Chan is there.
Rush: Indeed!
Rush: Even if it is in darkness!
Rush: maybe even ESPECIALLY then!
Rush: 🙂
Mike n Rachel in DC: And we’re not too far removed from April in Paris to boot. Lovely this time of year.
Mike n Rachel in DC: It’s a very romantic place in the moonlight. 😉
Rush: Yes!
Rush: Maybe my favorite city!
Dona: Agreed!
Rush: And, Notre Dame will be rebuilt.
Rush: That was so sad to watch.
Dona: I’m so glad to hear that. It was so sad to watch.
Rush: Marie and I went to midnight Mass there 20 years ago.
Dona: It was the first place I went when I visited and the last place before I left.
Rush: Fortunately, the Rose Windows survived along with relics, etc.
Dona: WOW Rush! That sounds amazing.
Rush: It was.
Rush: and afterward, we walked the Paris streets to return to our hotel.

Mike n Rachel in DC: No…that’s Charlie Chan in Paris
Rush: That is in “CC in Paris.”
Rush: 🙂
Rush: 5 minutes to go…
Godwinshelley2: Ah – I was there once – and the finding a bathroom near the Eiffel Tower was difficut
Rush: 🙂
Godwinshelley2: Ended up with a squat toilet (my first) – what an experience
Dona: I remember the plumbing was interesting there.
PaulM has joined this room
Godwinshelley2: AND my husband did not warn me even though he had used it first – the dog

Frosty has joined this room
Dona: Hi Frosty!

Godwinshelley2: Monster Bash near Pittsburgh PA around the 23rd of June
PaulM: i pack light. the only big thing i bring is my lawn chair for the outdoor movie

Cdirus: Hi Jim!
PaulM: so, it’s just about 1 month
Mike n Rachel in DC: Gotcha, Paul/GS
Frosty: Hi LJ

Godwinshelley2: NecronomiCon is the HP Lovecraft event held every other year (in the ODD years) when the stars are right
Rush: 25…

Mike n Rachel in DC: GONG
Rush: Title….
Mike n Rachel in DC: Rats.
Rush: Music intro…
Rush: Credits…
Mike n Rachel in DC: GONG
Rush: 🙂
LibraryJim: Based on a play….
Rush: Yes.
Godwinshelley2: It is quite fun – more literary than Monster Bash – but just as fun – live radio shows, scholarly presentations, role playing games, and shenanigans all round
Rush: The “newsreel”
Mike n Rachel in DC: September 1938
LibraryJim: Big Ben
Rush: Nevil Chamberlain…
Mike n Rachel in DC: Edourad Benes
Rush: Benes…
Rush: Mussolini..
Mike n Rachel in DC: Boo
Rush: Hitler…
Frosty: Frightening times
Rush: Indeed!
Dona: Yes!
Godwinshelley2: I’m not sure I am ready to watch something that is beating the drum for a war buildup – I’m already uneasy from watching the news
Rush: This film was copyright 1939….right at the end of the year.
Rush: december.
LibraryJim: Hey, that’s my birthday!
Mike n Rachel in DC: There’s nothing new under the sun, GS. Sadly.
Rush: War officially began in September.
Godwinshelley2: Would love to cross cut this film with a few shots of Rick & Ilsa in Paris
Mike n Rachel in DC: Sept. 3
LibraryJim: I don’t recall seeing this one….
Rush: “Happy Birthday”, LJ!
Mike n Rachel in DC: We’ll always have Paris.
LibraryJim: LOL
Rush: This is a fairly unusual Chan entry.
Rush: M/R: 🙂
Mike n Rachel in DC: Fail.
Rush: She means “business!”
Rush: But…she was fooled!
Mike n Rachel in DC: Isn’t this guy the police chief from “Berlin?”
LibraryJim: He tricked her.
Rush: I will check, M/R…but I don’t think so…
Mike n Rachel in DC: Same kind of voice…
Mike n Rachel in DC: “one little red light…”
Rush: That is Pedro de Cordoba…he is only in this one.
Mike n Rachel in DC: Huber is so good…
Rush: he plays “Antoinne.”
Rush: I agree.
Mike n Rachel in DC: OK. So he was Antoinne and the smuggler too?
Frosty: Be is good
Frosty: He
Rush: may do not like the part he plays in this one, but I see it as an example of his aciting ability.
Rush: the character is MEANT to be annoying!
Mike n Rachel in DC: New York cop, wacky French policeman (plus the guy in Monaco), police chief of Rio…he really had a range of characters
LibraryJim: Bi-planes.
Rush: Then we also have: C. Henry Gordon: Prefect of Police [J. Romaine]
Mike n Rachel in DC: Dr. Cream?
Rush: Yes!
Dona has left this room
Rush: And MORE.
Mike n Rachel in DC: Oh dear.
Dona has joined this room
Rush: Charlie Chan Carries On: John Ross
The Black Camel: Huntley Van Horn
Charlie Chan at the Olympics: Arthur Hughes
Charlie Chan in City in Darkness: Prefect of Police J. Romaine
Charlie Chan at the Wax Museum: Dr. Cream
Rush: Leo G. Carrol
LibraryJim: Anyone else watching on YouTube and notice the picture goes kind of wonky?
Rush: Also in “CC’s Murder Cruise.”
Frosty: Papa
Rush: I believe I saw that happen at Youtube for this film, LJ.
Rush: I am nor watching a DVD copy.
Mike n Rachel in DC: Leo G. Carroll was a staple of Three Stooges too, I think.
Rush: Does the image sort of “jitter”?
LibraryJim: Yes.
Rush: Yes.
Godwinshelley2: No Mike – that was Vernon Dent in the Stooges
LibraryJim: Like someone shakes the camera
Rush: That’s what I seem to recall.
Godwinshelley2: Leo was in the TV Topper & Man from UNCLE
Dona: Yes I remember both shows.
Rush: Sorry…only available online copy that I could locate.
Frosty: Wasn’t he Marley in A Christmas Carol
LibraryJim: Also in North by Northwest
Godwinshelley2: yes
Godwinshelley2: and Trantula
Rush: Great film, LJ!
LibraryJim: One of my favorites.
Rush: We visited Mt. Rushmore last summer.
Rush: Saw it SAFELY!
Mike n Rachel in DC: Ah. So you didn’t take the “Hitchcock tour” route, Rush?
Rush: Interesting hat.
Rush: No, M/R!
Godwinshelley2: Rush where do you buy a Chan hat online?
Rush: Took the safe tour!
Rush: No climbing on Lincoln’s nose!
Rush: GS…i will get you the link.
Godwinshelley2: Thanks
Mike n Rachel in DC: Peak Huber
Rush: Lost his badge….
Mike n Rachel in DC: Does not lack courage
Rush: Here you go, GS:
Rush: https://www.caliqo.com/findex.html?https&&&www.caliqo.com/charlie_chan_hat.html
LibraryJim: Likes the slapstick routines.
Rush: Nice hats!
LibraryJim: So that’s where he learned the skills he used in U.N.C.L.E.
Rush: 50.000!
Mike n Rachel in DC: Fu Yuen couldn’t do better!
Rush: Yes, LJ!
Rush: Agreed, M/R.
Rush: Lon Chaney, Jr.
Mike n Rachel in DC: Wow. Very young!
Rush: Yes.
LibraryJim: Pre-Wolfman
Godwinshelley2: Yes our second Chaney sighting
Godwinshelley2: Was he still Creighton in the credits?
Mike n Rachel in DC: Good thing there isn’t a full moon….
Rush: Lon Chaney:Charlie Chan on Broadway: Desk Clerk
Charlie Chan in City in Darkness: Pierre
Mike n Rachel in DC: Granville Insurance Agent
Rush: Mr. Petroff…not a good man…!
LibraryJim: Svengoolie showed Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein Saturday night, and Lon played the Wolfman in that.
Rush: Yes!
Rush: I DVD’d it.
Godwinshelley2: And who played the Invisible Man?
Frosty: Awful guy
Rush: (DVR’d)
LibraryJim: Vincent Price
Godwinshelley2: Yes
Mike n Rachel in DC: Must be so cool to have a wall safe.
Rush: “Cootie powder.”
Mike n Rachel in DC: Rhubarb pills, too.
Dona: What were they for?
Mike n Rachel in DC: Digestion, I think.
Dona: interesting
Mike n Rachel in DC: Yes. Digestion. And… https://www.amazon.com/Rhubarb-RX-Dr-Shens-Tabs/dp/B000J5CVAS
Rush: “Rhubarb contains several chemicals which might help heal cold sores.”
Mike n Rachel in DC: available on Amazon
Dona: very interesting
LibraryJim: Laxative. Hmm
Rush: Yes!
Rush: Rhubarb is used primarily for digestive complaints including constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, stomach pain, gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, and preparation for certain GI diagnostic procedures. Some people use rhubarb so they have to strain less during bowel movements; this reduces pain from hemorrhoids or tears in the skin lining the anal canal (anal fissures).
LibraryJim: I thought dysentery was more of a problem than constipation.
Mike n Rachel in DC: Hm. Multi-cure.
LibraryJim: Oh, it’s for both???
Rush: Marcel panics!
Dona: I learn something new everyday.
Rush: Me as well!
Mike n Rachel in DC: Diarrhea, constipation and cold sores?
Mike n Rachel in DC: <tincan>
Frosty: How do they drive around in the dark
Rush: The hazards of trench warfare….
Dona: good question
LibraryJim: Very carefully
Rush: I think that they have the headlights dimmed.
Mike n Rachel in DC: I think a lot of people got killed during the London blackouts during the war–hit by cars, fell into holes, etc. It was no small matter.
Rush: We have seen how they were blacked out except for thin slits?
Rush: Yes, M/R.
LibraryJim: Butler’s are very detailed.
Rush: Yes!
Mike n Rachel in DC: Yes, Rush. Every German officer has a car with slit headlights in WW2 films!
Rush: 🙂
Dona has left this room
Dona has joined this room
Rush: I had friends as a kid, and I remember their dad stating that the only ticket he ever received was for driving during a blackout.
Rush: WB, Dona!
Rush: Seems our Chat Room does not agree with your computer…:(
Dona: I’m not sure what I’m doing to irritate the chat room. LOL
Rush: Marcel panics again….!
Rush: As I mentined last time…a line that was borrowed, it seems, from “Blockheads” with laurel and Hardy!
Mike n Rachel in DC: The cellar. It’s under the house. That’s like the “the backdoor is in the rear” line from “Secret”
LibraryJim: Not as good as Birmingham Brown, but effective comic relief.
Rush: Yes, M/R!
Rush: “The Brandy of napoleon…”
Cdirus: Oops
Rush: (CRASH!)
Mike n Rachel in DC: Klutz
Dona: I’m listening to a book right now about Napoleon’s time on Elba
Dona: Its very interesting.
Rush: Yes?
Frosty: Interesting
Mike n Rachel in DC: What did he do?
Rush: The local hangout…
LibraryJim: All these Parisian dives look the same to me….
Mike n Rachel in DC: This place would be a good Dance Apache locale…fortunately it’s not on this evening’s program.
Dona: Elba was his kingdom so to speak
LibraryJim: Patience big sister to wisdom.
Rush: “Guillaume the Weasel” (Marcel Spivak: “From six generations of crooks.”)
“Victor the Gyp” (Marcel Spivak: “His mother was guillotined.”)
“Gaston the —“
“Gentleman Max” (Marcel Spivak: “Jewelry thief anf lady killer.”)
(Marcel Spivak: “The dirty one is Alex —“)
LibraryJim: Is that the first one he’s said tonight?
Rush: Note the stains on his scarf..
Dona: he improved the infrastructure and build schools. As well as plotted to take over France again.
Rush: “OOPS!”
Mike n Rachel in DC: Well, I guess we all have our little foibles
Cdirus: Fight!
Mike n Rachel in DC: <fight>
Rush: Lola.
Mike n Rachel in DC: Always bonds in French movies of this time…
LibraryJim: Whatever Lola wants….
Rush: That’s true, M/R.
Rush: LJ…that one did come to mind!
Rush: 🙂
Mike n Rachel in DC: Obviously they have different tastes in women…
Frosty: Shots
Mike n Rachel in DC: <gunfight>
Mike n Rachel in DC: cad
LibraryJim: Shots was what the two were doing in the cellar
Dona: lol
LibraryJim: ?
Mike n Rachel in DC: From Adele to Zelda…I want them all!
Rush: 🙂
LibraryJim: [
Dona: not a very good shot. He missed the girl
Rush: Well…in the dark….:)
Mike n Rachel in DC: Even Quinn and Xenia
LibraryJim: |_|
Rush: But, yes…bad shot!
Mike n Rachel in DC: He said he fired into the air to frighten her. Odd policing.
Rush: Wait’ll she tells him about the other 40,000!
Rush: OUCH!
LibraryJim: Using phone tonight, keep sending wrong key strokes.
Rush: AH!
Mike n Rachel in DC: Cherche la femme
LibraryJim: Fur collar
Rush: Yes!
Mike n Rachel in DC: Cherchez
Rush: I think that begs the question: In which Chan film do we NOT see a fur?!
Mike n Rachel in DC: Not white fox
Mike n Rachel in DC: Chan knows geography
Rush: Great memory, Mr. Chan!
Cdirus: Ouch!
Frosty: She was at Petroffs
Rush: Good punch!
Godwinshelley2: I would say Later Chan films and Egypt
Rush: The warmer climate adventures….yes.
Mike n Rachel in DC: Spivak does not seem like a particularly French name
LibraryJim: He rounded up the usual suspects.
Rush: Marcel mentioned that his fatyher is Romanian.
Mike n Rachel in DC: Oh!
Rush: (father)
Rush: Easy to have missed!
Rush: 🙂
Dona has left this room
Godwinshelley2: Poor Dona
Mike n Rachel in DC: Sounds Czech/Jewish
Rush: Chan finds himself in a tough situation soon!
Rush: Yes, M/R.
Frosty: Thugs
LibraryJim: Chan looks for the secret entrance to U.N.C.L.E. HQ
Dona has joined this room
Mike n Rachel in DC: Evil serrurier
Godwinshelley2: Wasn’t it DeFlorian’s Tailor Shop
Rush: WB, again, Dona….
Mike n Rachel in DC: Charlie tries a trap…fails.
LibraryJim: Yep (del Floria’s)
Godwinshelley2: I liked the Black & White UNCLE episodes better than the color (post-Batman craze)
Mike n Rachel in DC: OK, Charlie. time for some creativity!
Rush: Not a wise officer.
Rush: Should have taken a closer look!
LibraryJim: Me, too. They got too silly later. (Sonny and Cher? Really)
Mike n Rachel in DC: Was that with Ilya Kurakin?
Rush: Yes, to the UNCLE series.
Godwinshelley2: When they had a gorilla doing the watuzi – it was too much
Rush: I agree.
Godwinshelley2: Yes Mike
Dona has left this room
Rush: “The Girl from UNCLE” didn’t help.
Mike n Rachel in DC: Vaguely remember them…
Dona has joined this room
Rush: I had a friend whose brother appeared in a bit part in one of the episodes.
Mike n Rachel in DC: Looks like a Houdini act for Charlie.
Godwinshelley2: Ah – but the Girl had the cross-over episode with Robert Vaughn and BORIS KARLOFF – even if Karloff was in drag
Mike n Rachel in DC: A wise man question himself. A fool others.
Rush: At the time my family lived in the san Fernando valley of L.A.
Frosty: The Avengers went from serious to silly too.
Godwinshelley2: Rush – how cool!
Rush: YES, GS!
Rush: Chan saves himself!
Godwinshelley2: Yes – Black and White Avengers were better too
Rush: Again, agreed!
Rush: Became more comedic later.
Godwinshelley2: I tried to explain “The Prisoner” to some millennials the other day
Rush: “Campy.”
Rush: Don’t even try, GS!
LibraryJim: Agreed. Once Mrs Peel (Diana Rigg) left, it went downhill.
Rush: I might even say that was an all time favorite show of mine.
Mike n Rachel in DC: Ahm-ba-seal
Rush: Loved “Secret Agent” (“Danger Man”), too!
Godwinshelley2: Did you know there was an episode of the Prisoner that CBS would not air?
Rush: No.
Godwinshelley2: It was the Wild West episode where McGoohan refused to use a gun – TOO ANTI-WAR for CBS during Vietnam era
Rush: HM!
Frosty: Oh
Mike n Rachel in DC: Charlie gives a virtuoso line-up performance here.
Rush: Agreed!
Mike n Rachel in DC: Ooo was that?
Mike n Rachel in DC: I don’t squeal to 12
Rush: Also, there is no mood music apparent in this one.
Mike n Rachel in DC: minimal music in this movie overall
Rush: Yes.
Mike n Rachel in DC: would love to know how the music was done for these
Godwinshelley2: Would probably have accordion music anyways since it is France
Rush: Fox studio orchestra?
Rush: We head that in that cafe.
Rush: That was it.
Rush: (heard)
Mike n Rachel in DC: But who would have composed it? These weren’t like the big films that had scores written by big name composers.
LibraryJim: Each studio had their own music department
Rush: Throughout the series, we hear bits of mood music that span through several Chan movies.
Mike n Rachel in DC: There is music from the Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes movies that is in some of the Chans.
Rush: They seemed to re-use their musuc a lot.
Mike n Rachel in DC: Wonder if they used old silent-movie books
LibraryJim: They went with public domain music a lot.
Rush: Planes overhead!
Godwinshelley2: The Monograms seem to have public domain music
Mike n Rachel in DC: The Green Hornet does for sure, LJ. There isn’t any recognizable earlier music in the Chans, though.
LibraryJim: Which is why do many of the old radio themes were classical tunes.
Rush: I wouldn’t groan on hearing that good news!
Rush: Yes, LJ, as we hear on the Green Hornet serial we are following!
Rush: Mike and Rachel fill us in on the sources of the music!
Godwinshelley2: That and the Lone Ranger – very easy to pick out
Rush: 🙂
LibraryJim: And in The Lone Ranger.
Mike n Rachel in DC: Either public domain or Russian music (Tchaikowsky)-after WWI the Russian copyrights weren’t valid for a while.
LibraryJim: Lucille Ball?
Godwinshelley2: Weird – when the telephone lady reads the telegram visible on the screen – they STILL put up subtitles saying the same thing
Frosty: Lol
Godwinshelley2: LJ – I don’t think it was Ms Ball
LibraryJim: Probably not
LibraryJim: More fur
Rush: Yes, GS…
Godwinshelley2: LJ – if you get a chance, catch Ms Ball in LURED – it’s great
Mike n Rachel in DC: The old “gun in the fur” trick!
Godwinshelley2: and it also has Karloff in it
Rush: aybe just so the hearing impaierd know that that was ALL she was saying?
Rush: This man looks familiar…
Frosty: Good though

Mike n Rachel in DC: Old-time car chase!
Mike n Rachel in DC: She’s a racy girl. 😉

Rush: Prophetic message from Charlie Chan….
Mike n Rachel in DC: No war–this year.
Dona has joined this room
Godwinshelley2: Though what the attraction Olive had was way beyond my knowledge
LibraryJim: That’s what they think!
Mike n Rachel in DC: <kids-yeah>
Dona: Charlie knew
Godwinshelley2: So he is Lon by now
Frosty: Clapping
Mike n Rachel in DC: So in 1939, this would have been nicely ironic.
